Parallels spawning dozens of windows

Have been running Parallels Desktop for Mac for a while through multiple versions, currently 3.0 (build 5160). On this and previous versions I have seen odd behavior where Parallels sits there and opens multiple Guest OS windows. This seems to occur once Windows (XP) has kicked into locked mode after a period of inactivity. I have seen as many as 20-30 windows opened this way. I can't find any other reports of such a problem on this forum.

The additional windows that are opened belong to some application already running on the Guest OS.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
 
Problem with extra windows still occuring

This problem never got resolved. Have attached a screenshot of what happens to show just how maddening it is!

Have updated version of both Parallels and OS X since my original post
Now at Parallels build 5584 and OS X 10.5.2

An additional note. I just started Notepad once and the other application (Enterprise Architect) once. All the other copies were opened while Parallels sat there in the background while I was doing other things.

Here's what the screen looks like after closing the extra copies of the Windows apps.

A couple of points.

Even after all the Windows apps were closed the icons in the dock still exist.

Even before closing the Windows apps the number of copies of the apps running in Windows did not correspond to the number of dock icons representing them. There were more icons in the dock than there were windows in the guest OS.
