For some reason after I updated it Windows (or was it Parallels, don't remember) said that I had to update Parallels Tools, I tried it, it got stuck (froze), then I restarted the Windows and now, even tho it makes sounds (the VM), all the screen is black.

I got similar problem. You'll need to boot into Window using Safe Mode (press F8 key when the VM is booting). Then once Windows is booted up in Safe Mode, install Parallels Tools again. When it reboots, my VM starts up just fine.

The thing now is that I read in another post that it should the tools should be un-installed?

I'll try booting like you suggested to see if it works, tho.

    Hmmm

    MANY THANKS form me also.

    HOwever I have a question.

When I booted into safe mode Windows wanted to install some new drivers.

I ignored this and instead installed the new Parallels drivers and rebooted.

I EXPECTED Windows to find new hardware on the reboot but it found nathing, nada, not a sausage.

It just started up as if I had not changed anything???

    Does this sound right?

    Robin
