Parallels success -->> network config snag

Very large Kudos to the Parallels team! I installed with guest XP Pro on my Mac Pro today with no more than 10 minutes of personal time invested. Parallels did all the rest via Express Install. True I had spent time during the past weeks reading the Parallels docs, forums etc.

The bottom line is a working XP Pro in a few minutes vs. the hours it has normally taken me. Components installed & tested so far:

1. Shared folders.
2. Internet access [IE used just long enough to d/l Firefox].
3. Printing to Epson shared by the host Mac Pro - I used Bonjour for Windows - instant success. NB, I used the Bonjour recommended local XP driver for Epson 1160, not the generic postscript as instructed by the Parallels manual.

Amazing!

My next goal is to import my documents+settings, then my F:drive user data and applications from an existing XP laptop. I'm planning to use the "transfer wizard":

/programs/accessories/system tools/Files and Settings Transfer Wizard.

But I have a network config problem - perhaps experts here can advise best solution. The Dell I need to reach is unreachable from the XP VM subnet. Here's the config:

en0: inet 192.168.1.100
en1: inet 192.168.2.1
en2: airport off
en3: inet 10.37.129.2 Parallels Host-Guest
en4: inet 10.211.55.2 Parallels NAT
dell: 192.168.2.3
XPVM: 192.168.1.112

The reason for this config is we have to access the net via long-range point-to-point wifi [we live on our yacht, no ADSL]. So our topology looks like this:

Yacht club access point <--> high gain antenna <--> high gain antenna on ADAGIO
<--> wireless bridge
<--> Mac Pro en0

Mac Pro en1 <--> Ethernet switch
<--> Dell
<--> Airport Express in bridge mode
<--> iBook, ...

Any wisdom on easiest way to reconfig so the Parallels XP can reach the Dell would be appreciated.

In Windows, I use the built in router (Win2k server) for that sort of thing. I don't know if the Mac has a router, but if not, a cheap router with the wireless bridge connected to the WAN port and the Mac and Dell connected to router local ports and everything on 192.168.1.x would work. In fact, the router will have a DHCP server that will supply addresses for the Mac, Dell, and XP VM.

I but firewall routers for less than $60, and a firewall between your internal network and the Internet is a really, really good idea IMO.

Parallels Desktop build 1970 (latest stable) have Shared Networking mode. I'd expect your setup to just work in Shared mode.
If you still prefer Bridged mode, you can add a second ethernet adapter to VM and bridge it specifically to en1. But multiple adapters are only available in latest beta.
