OSX: 10.4.11
Parallels Desktop: 4.0.3810
RAM: 2GB
MacBook Pro 2.33GHz.
WinXP: currently up to date.
After converting to Parallels 4, apparently successfully WinXP will boot without problems and is usable, but slow. However on startup Parallels Tools Update downloads and attempts an install. This install fails to complete and the installer then offers the chance to re-boot with the same result. I've tried the suggestion to uninstall Parallels Tools then reinstall and I can't do this because the uninstall also fails. I've tried starting Windows in Safe Mode then running uninstall.bat, that also fails. I've tried the option suggested here of deleting drivers from System32 and then re-installing. Install still fails.
I've run out of options, what should I try next?
