Just tried to install the Parallels Tools update and upon rebooting it appeared that Ubuntu itself was attempting to install updates, but I could not stop the reboot from Parallels Tools. I wound up with just the background screen and no activity from Ubuntu. I stopped the machine and now upon booting from the GNU interface, I get a kernel panic. "Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block." What happened? Looks like I'll need to reinstall.
