parallels trying to boot from primary master ide

My Guest OS Session was Perfectly fine.

I rebooted my MAC

When I started parallels I got this parallels trying to boot from primary master ide as though it can NOT locate my hard drive for it.


This is "NOT" duel boot but a window running on my I Mac
Thanks this is really really urgent that I get on this thing today. Thanks in advance.
 
More info - PLEASE help!!

Unable to connect Hard Disk 1.

A file or device required for the operation of Hard Disk 1 does not exist or is used by another process, or you have no permission to access it. The virtual machine will continue running, but the device will be disconnected.


I cloned the pragmatic system and then tried to boot with same problem - then i tried safe mode - same problem - tried normal and got a NEW ERROR as seen above.

PLEASE I don't care if I can JUST salvage my files from that image I WAS BAD and did not back up for some time.

Please follow these steps mentioned here:

1. Go to Documents/Parallels and choose .pvm file.
2. Right click on the .pvm file and choose show package contents.
3. In the contents you will have a .hdd file which will have the maximum disk space.
4. Right click on the .hdd file and choose show package contents.
5. You will see a diskdescriptor.xml.lck file, drag and drop it into Mac desktop.
6. Please note that DO NOT touch the diskdescriptor.xml
7. Now please try to start Parallels.

Update to my issue

Thank you for the reply but there was no .lck in the package only the Diskdescriptor.xml and diskdescriptor.xml.temp
 
Did I understood right that you are running VM from BootCamp partition?

If so, is the partition FAT or NTFS?
 
and.. if you are running just a VM from image, you can try to use Parallels Image Explorer to access files on the image
 
Corrupt system

I am shocked but learned my lesson

I was NOT doing backups every day or even anytime recently - there was NO warning - NOTHING to suggest the entire VM would just corrupt. I used it EVERYDAY. I cant explore with parallels tools or anything. I don't understand how there is NO WAY To salvage my data.

It says the file system is corrupt or contains errors.

Is this a common problem. What kind of support can I get to salvage some of my very critical files I was foolish enough to keep on that VM
