Parallels will not execute

Hello,

I recently been unable to open parallels desktop after double clicking; the initial animation of the app popping up in the Dock happens but it disappears immediately afterwards no errors are given. I think this might be related to an archive and install that I had done a day prior to this issue happening. Any suggestions are appreciated as I have data I really need to get to on those VM's.
 
It might not be actual for you anymore, but have you tried launching Parallels from any other place, like Applications -> Parallels -> Parallels Desktop?
Also, if this is Parallels 4.0, you can just navigate to the virtual machine file at /Users/<username>/Documents/Parallels/<virtual_machine_name>.pvm
You can try double-clicking on that file.
Since this file is basically your virtual machine with all the data inside you can back it up (just copy it to some other place) and reinstall Parallels.
 
Thanks for the response launching from another location didn't work however the reinstall resolved the issue thanks.
