Just a bit of advice: if you're running Parallels Desktop on a Mac to enable you to run windows xp, and you'd like to upgrade from win xp to win 7, the Parallels upgrade tool is probably not for you. That was my experience, anyway. The upgrade did seem to work (again, win xp to win 7, moving all programs and data as promised), and I'd even describe the process as smooth, but once you've upgraded to win 7 there seems to be no way to tell Parallels Desktop that the virtual machine should now be treated as win 7. You can boot the upgraded machine as a win xp machine, but it's clearly crippled, and will not let you install parallels tools. If you try to switch the VM to win 7, it won't boot at all (gets stop screen).

It's possible, of course, that I'm doing something wrong, so if anyone has a different experience I would love to hear about it. Unless you find clear instructions for using Parallels upgrade software under Parallels Desktop, however, save yourself $40 and find something else.
