Parallels won't start..

I double-click on the desktop shortbut and the icon starts to bounce and then nothing. I also have two Windows program shortcuts in my Dock and they have the same result after clicking on them; they bounce for a couple seconds as though Parallels is starting up and then the process quits.

Parallels 4.0
Leopard (whatever the latest build is)
Windows XP SP3 via BootCamp

Hello David,

Please follow these steps in regards to the issue:

Restart MAC, dont start any applications.
Please follow these steps :

1. Open Finder
2. Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utilities
3. Choose MAC HD
4. Choose repair disk permissions.
5. After running the repair disk permissions , restart the computer.
6. Uninstall Parallels Desktop and install it back again.


I hope this will help in resolving the issue.
