Partial XP desk top

Hello all,
My sister-in-law has a MacBook w/XP home installed. In Parallels, only part of the XP desktop is visible, start button and surrounding area is black and unable to accsess any functions. .... any clues??? Thanks.

Were the Parallel Tools installed correctly?

Go to Actions Menu, click on Install Parallels Tools. If Uninstall Parallels Tools is available, click on it, then reinstall Parallels Tools.

Did she try decreasing the size of the window?
