I'd like to be able to pause the virtual machine with a keystroke combination. Sometimes I have programs running that are CPU intensive, and only need to use the CPU when I am using it. it would be much easier to pause with the keyboard than with the mouse/trackpad.

I would imagine it should be easy to implement, but I know very little about programming.

No, this is different. This pauses the virtual machine when NO windows apps re running. I want to pause it when there is something running. I only need it running when I am actively using it. But I don't want to close the app - I want it open so I can get back to it when I am done the other task.
So a keystroke would be ideal.

KalonjiC, you can do it by adding macOS shortcuts in macOS System Preferences. See pictures.

Great. It was actually easy, but I found it here. Thanks!
