Please help a nitwit with IP info

I'm booting Parallels for the first time, and got into the Windows install and setup, when it asked me for all the IP address greek that I don't understand. I'm on a Mac Pro connected via a DSL modem, and Mac OS did this all automatically for itself. When Windows asked me, I hit Skip, but a Mac Alert window kept popping up over the Windows screen telling me about an IP address. Was that what I was supposed to enter there? Every time I clicked OK on the alert, it just came back.

So do I just copy the numbers in Ethernet setting under System Preferences/Network? I've removed all the Parallels stuff, and plan to start over. I know I sound really stupid, so please type your response slowly.

DeadSirius, you should treat the Windows install via Parallels as a seperate computer. It will have its own IP addressing. Suggest read through the big manual that comes with parallels, some good info there, and also any of the windows for dummies books would be helpful for you to read. Its really not as simple as - just put in A,B,C as there are alot of factors. The first being is your DSL modem have a firewall/router built in with DHCP or are you straight on the net. If you are straight on the net, suggest getting a firewall/router (see your local mega computer store) before getting XP all viruii and spywared. good luck!
