Pro/E on Parallels

I was able to successfully install and run Pro/E (in conjunction with Intralink, the file management companion to Pro/E) on Parallels.

3-D performance is good, but definitely not as good as on Boot Camp. For many tasks, however, I think performance is good enough to be useful. For more details, including a short video, click here:

I've also successfully run Pro/E under parallels.

One issue I've had is that the blue "preselection" highlight that Pro/E applies when you hover the cursor over a part takes close a second to disappear when the cursor is moved away from the part. This can be particularly frustrating when moving across an assembly that has several parts placed close together. The effect is visible in the video posted by rogermh above.

Obviously I don't expect graphics to be as snappy under Parallels as they are on a native install of XP. And I'm happy with the 3D performance other than this one annoying issue with the preselection highlighting. Does anyone with knowledge of Pro/E have any ideas on how to fix this? Are there any settings in Pro/E or parallels that I could tweak? Is there even anyone else out there using Pro/E?

I've already found the option under Edit > Select > Preferences that allows me to disable the preselection highlights, but 3D performance otherwise is good enough that I feel like there should be a better way.

dburnham, I think a better way than disabling the pre-selection highlights (Edit > Select > Preferences) is to use the "pull-up" menu in the lower right-hand corner of the window to select something like "Annotation". With this set to "Annotation", you can spin/zoom/pan the assembly or part without the annoying blue pre-selection highlight that you mention. Then, when you actually want to select something, go back to the pull-up menu and select something else like "Smart". It's far from ideal, but it's the best way I've found.

Other than a general improvement in "3D acceleration", do you know exactly what feature we should be clamoring for? My understanding is that Pro/E utilizes OpenGL so my assumption is that we need Parallels to support OpenGL in order to fix this problem.
