Hi, I just purchased Parallel desktop on my Macbook pro because I need to use Microsoft Access Runtime. After installing Office and trying to open Access it shows the following message: Microsoft Access runtime is installed on this machine. You must start Microsoft Access by double-clicking a Microsoft Access file, or by running Microsoft Access from a command prompt with a database. After clicking OK the application shuts down and I´m unable to use it. Also, when I open a file with Access I can just see it, but not work with it.
Somebody knows witch could be the problem?

I faced the same problem and I did these steps and it's worked for me!

If you get a box that says Microsoft Runtime is installed on this machine. You must start Microsoft Office be double-clicking a Microsoft Office file, or by running a Microsoft Office application from a command prompt with a database specified when you open a Microsoft Office application, uninstall the Runtime component from Control panel and restart after the uninstall completes.

    1. Go to the Control Panel App
    2. Go to Programs and Features
    3. Find Microsoft Office Runtime in the list and single click on it
    4. Click the word Uninstall at the top of the list
    5. When you get a prompt asking you if you want to uninstall it, click Yes.
    6. Once it finishes installing, restart your computer
