Problem with Windows Installer Package, Parallels Transporter 4.0 Build 3522

Hi -

I am trying to install Parallels Transporter 4.0 (Build 3522) for Windows on my XP (SP3) machine, in order to move it onto my mac (no prior parallels installations on either, no upgrade problems).

Upon starting the installer, I get the following error message:

"Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your package vendor. Custom action Seach. OldTransporter script error - 2146827859, m...."

I tried removing the entire Install Shield Information folder, but no change. I've also downloaded different versions of the package several times.

Any ideas?

The most of problem were fixed.

As for error please refer to

The errors indicate that the installation process failed due to problems that Scripts can not handle usually the error will have the number 1720 which is quite a general error.

I suppose antivirus may prevent installation

Hi - before seeing your message, I tried various things to do with updating drivers and applying other fixes, and all of a sudden it worked, no idea why, though. In any case, I've in the meantime decided to start with a new, clean virtual machine instead of trying to migrate the old, so I can do without the transporter for now. But I'll apply the update before I use it again next time.

I had the same problem and I solved it by registering the scrrun.dll file by opening a command prompt with administrator rights and typing regsvr32 scrrun.dll. It doesn't work with a normal command prompt, administrator rights are required.
