Problems installing the printer driver

I have a windows-only printer that I want to use in a parallels VM on windows, I can see the printer on my mac, but installing the driver in the VM gives me the error code "error 1797", what should I do? What should I do? My printer salesman thinks that the print service in the VM may not be installed properly and suggests reinstalling it, which I've tried, but still can't get it to work.
