thanks for the quick response. I have tried what you suggested but it resulted in a black frame in my windows desktop when i go full screen and the game still has black bars. Before I enabled this settle my desktop fitted the entire screen but when i ran my game it gave me black bars on the sides only but desktop was fine. The game runs in 1024x768 while my macbook widescreen monitor runs at 1280x800. I hope this should clearify things a little.
I want to play this game in full screen without black bars on the side so that the image is stretched.

Do you have Parallels Tools installed?
Does right clicking desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Screen Resolution have the same affect on the Mac resolution while you're in full screen mode?
Note that 1024x768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio. 1280x800 is a 16:10 (wide screen) aspect ratio. In this case you will have vertical bars on the left and right side of your Mac screen but not on the top and bottom.
Most Mac wide screens have two options for 4:3 aspect ratio options. For example, I have a 1024x768 option and an 1024x768 (stretched) option for my wide screen to eliminate the left and right vertical bars. Parallels needs an option to use these stretched resolutions if they exist to go with the "Adjust Mac resolution in full screen" option.

I have parallel tools and i got it to work using the 1024x768 (stretched) option , but i dont like having to change my resolution everytime i play. Is there any other way to do this because I play this game on my PC which has a widescreen monitor running at 1440x900 with no black bars and does it automatically.
So basically what I'm saying is that I want to keep my macbook resolution at 1280x800 and still get it to play without black bars.

Why would you want to play a game with stretched pixels anyway?
Can you tell the game to work at 1280x800 or 1024x640?
You could use a utility like SwitchResX to force the Mac to use stretched modes when an application selects a non-stretched mode. This will work with Parallels Desktop in full screen mode.

I don't know of any others. Try searching Version Tracker or MacUpdate.
DisplayConfigX has similar features but probably not the feature you want. It's also not free but may have less restrictions. I like the test pattern which shows if my LCD or DLP TV's are set to pixel accurate (1:1) mode.
