promoting roles and what happens if a dead server comes back

On Friday last week we had a server failure. The server that failed had the role of Master PA and licensing site.

The Parallels Farm reduncany was great - everything just kept on working and no users were even aware we lost a server.

Given the 72 hour grace period for our farm to keep functioning when it became clear we were not getting our server back before the end of the 72 hour grace period I promoted another server in the farm to take on the role of Master PA and Licensing. (originally I was attempting to do licensing only - but this was impossible to do on it's own without a functioning Master PA)

If we get the dead server back online it will be thinking it is still the Master PA and will also have outdated publishing. What is likely to happen in the farm if this dead server comes back to life after a hibernation?
