Published app crashes

I'm in the process of troubleshooting a very frustrating issue.

I have about 16 locations that use 2x/RDS on Windows 2008 x64 R2 to run
published apps. One of the apps is important, and the manufacturer
isn't very helpful in supporting it in a Terminal type environment.

Users get frequent disconnects (more like application crashes) when using this app. When they reconnect to the app, they do not continue their session. Instead, they start a new app session (losing there work).

Does anyone know/had of this type of issue? And are there any settings that I should check in my configuration or RDS/2x or the application? Is there anything like an application session isolation?

It almost seems that when one user crashes that is also effects others using that app.

Is the application terminal server aware?
What do you get in the windows event log?

Obviously if the application is crashing you cant do much. I would recommend to isoate the appplicaton as much as you can. On 2X you can disable session sharing for the application so it limits the effect on the applications the useris using.

An other option is to use the appliaction inside a vm, with 2X VDS you can have a mixture of vdi technologies and terminal server all connected with the same client
