I am fairly new to 2X. I have worked with Citrix before to publish apps to the web. I am attempting to publish VMware virtual machines on the web using 2X and the VI client running on Server 2003 Is there a crib sheet for setting up the web (IIS) server to publish apps?
Hi there, I am not sure if i understood you question right.. BUT If you have virtual machines (eg Win Xp desktops) running on vmware, all you need to do is to: 1) Install the Terminal Server Agents on the VMs 2) Add the Virtual machines as Terminal servers in the 2X Console. 3) Publish a Desktop. 4) Use the "Publish to web" feature. (This will generate a static web page) 5) Place the web page on a web server 6) Install the client on the client machines 7) From the client go to the web page. 8) Click on the Desktop icon. 9) The 2X Client connect to an available Virtual machine. I will give this a try and get back to you. Originally, I had intended to publish the "VMware Virtual Infrastructure client" as an application since it has more functionality than a plain desktop. Your version sounds simpler for now.. Thanks PS> I take it that publishing the desktop your way uses different ports than RDP? Why shouldn't I just use plain old RDP for ths purpose?
Using this solution you will always connect to one IP/PORT and it will redirect you to the least loaded server or to a non used XP VM. Nixu
