I've pre-ordered Parallels for Mac OS but I'm currently not using Beta 4.
There are just too many kernel panics that kill the OS. That is something I simply cannot tolerate. I need my MacBookPro daily for work. If I had to spend 3-4 hours re-installing OS X right now it would simply be really bad!
I know Parallels is working hard. I simply request that ALL WORK STOP on things like the UI or putting in spinning cube animations, sound etc.
Concentrate solely on getting a rock solid VM going. It should NEVER be able to cause a kernel panic. The very thought that it can cause OS X corruption is very scary.
If there is a way to do it, not having looked at the code that Parallels is working with if the code traps an exception that would result in a kernel panic I would very much rather that Parallels simply quit. I would rather lose my VM because that I can backup and restore easily enough. But corrupting the OS simply has to stop before I'll be able to use the product.
