    Hey guys,

Somehow my parallels desktop was deleted. I have looked for the .pvm file on the Mac and it is empty (its not in the trash bin). I run my business from this and now everything is gone. Is there anyway to retrieve it?

    Thanks

It doesn't just delete itself. You would have to specifically delete it and empty the trash, my guess it that it was moved to a different folder.

Where have you looked for the pvm?

Have you used spotlight to search for it?

Maybe the pvm was in an external storage attached to the computer?

Maybe the pvm is/was on a separate Volume/Disk that was ejected from the computer?

If it's really not anywhere I'm afraid the recovery of deleted files is expensive, has to be done by professionals, and might not wield positive results, for a start for it to have any success you would have to have stopped using the machine right away, a VM is a big file, when deleted the space it occupies is marked as free, saving anything to the disk afterwards might write over the VM bytes.

I have searched the mac for any .pvm, .hdd, or .pvs files. I have looked in the trash can and its not there. The parallels folder is still there but there is nothing in the folder. Do you have any other suggestions?

You can try repairing your disk via disk utility in case there's a disk problem.

You can try a complete search using Terminal.app:

(it asks for the password so it can search everywhere)

The other suggestions I made don't apply? You also have no idea how the pvm just disappeared?

If it really was deleted (by who if not you?), your only hope is a professional data recovery service like I said, with low probability of success.
