Question about new 3d support

Well i have the new version and iam trying to run CS 1.6. I cannot run it in Open GL (which im lead to believe works now.) If i do it in D3D it messes with my mouse config to.. So has any one got 1.6 working in OpenGL mode? I enabled the direct x in the options before booting but i dont seem to notice any changes in gameplay, it still forces me to run in software mode.
 
This does not suprise me.

They don't have full directX support, and they only support a limited set of openGL (1.5 I think).

It is amazing that some games run at all.
