Hello all. Know you have heard this a milllion times, but I'm a little new to this. I'm hoping you could answer a few questions for me. I have one terminal server running Windows 2003 R2. I have terminal services installed with a 50 user cal. I have 2X app server installed on top of it. Nothing else is installed. I used the default install for the 2X app server. 1. What does this mean "Connection to Localhost:81 failed"? It pops up on the monitor from time to time but that's the only message I get. 2. I have my clients setup direct mode because it is the only option that seems to work. IS this the best method? 3. Finally, I am having an issue with folks being kixed off 2X. I'm not sure why. I enabled the loggin option but nothing really stands out. It seems sporatic but it does happen every day. I don't know why maybe 8 out of 25 people would get booted off. It's never the same people. I did find one error in the log. "Failed to get MAC Address (0x0000001f) A device attached to the system is not functioning". NOt sure if this is a server thing or a client issue. Any thing helps. Thanks.
Connecion to localhost:81 failed I have the same issue. any reason or resolution to this. I also have a Gold Support with 2X but, no responses and no answers, very disappointing. If 2X wants to establish itself in this market they better come up with a good customer service and support, I also recommend that the company be run by Business oriented people and not engineers or techs.
Re: Connecion to localhost:81 failed If you have gold support please contact the support team. However from the error message, it seems that yourclient is configured in direct mode and the server dierct address is set to localhost. Make sure you specify the correct IP (the setting is on the server)
connection failed thx for the tip ZIPPO, I just made the modification as you suggested. I'll be turning on al my Clients (about 31) between now and next week Friday. and I'll wait and see. Is there a faster way to test this issue? the only way I know of is when the thin Client PXE (Randomley) fails connection after getting an IP from the DHCP then looses its IP. I do have a gold Support, I'm assuming you work for 2X, and you can tell from my profile, or you can call me directly to 408 265 2607 xt 2493 and I can give the Info.
Re: connection failed I dont, but I have good contacts there, please check the website and go to the support section, you have all emails, link and tel numbers
