Quickbooks 2009 Update will not run

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate within Parallels 5. I installed Quickbooks 2009, no issues. When I start Quickbooks I get a message to update to R10. When I respond yes, the update seems to start but just ends, no warnings, no messages. When I try to run the update from Quickbooks I have the same issue. When I try a manual update, the same issue.

I should add that I also have Quickbooks 2009 installed on several PC platforms under Windows 7 and the update to R10 runs fine.

Anyone have this issue or know of the problem?

Have the same problem with Quickbooks 2010

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium within Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac. I installed Quickbooks 2010, with a couple issues, but the error messages and the solutions were easy to find on the web. When I start Quickbooks now I get a message to update to R13. When I respond yes, the update seems to start but just ends after showing the rotating wheel for few seconds. There are no warnings and no messages. When I try to run the update from within Quickbooks I have the same issue.
