Quickboos POS

I am running Quickbooks POS (v 7.0) in a server environment with about 5 client computers. I am trying to hook up a new macbook to the server file (so the macbook is a client), but keep running into a "cannot find the company file" error.

I have run some ping tests and the macbook can ping the server computer, but the server cannot ping the client. I think the problem may lie in the OSX not allowing the incoming traffic (since QB configures the windows firewall automatically).

Also, on the same computer I am running QB Pro and it connects to the server just fine.

Has anyone run across this problem?
Any suggestions?

I've researched how to set up consignment items in Quickbooks POS, but it appears to be cumbersome to set for each item. Some of my inventory will be on consignment, so I'd prefer my POS system to be as easy as possible.How about yours?
