Harddrive performance in VM's always suffers. With the whole compressor thiny producing drives smaller than a gig, maybe have an option to cache the HDD image entirely in memory, if possible, and let the host pagefile handle the swapping-in-and-out if it's larger than physical memory permits. It could allow for hosting several servers without taking any spindle time.
