RAM on Mac side shows 12gb but windows side 1gb?

I recently upgraded my ram on my iMac to 12gb I'm running parallels 7 with windows zp pro..my Mac is showing me the 12gb ram..but when I check my computer info on the windows side it's not showing 12gb? I talked to a best buy salesman and told me I have to allocate the ram to the windows side..any one know how ??

I really appreciate any help.
