Randomly keyboard stops working, small beeps

Just recently my keyboard will stop working in both or either Windows 11 VM and/or on the MacOS side. Small beeps will be heard when pressing all buttons and nothing happens. What the hell is going on here?

MacBook Pro M1 Max w/latest Parallel running Windows 11.

If I switch back and forth and press keys in random windows it sometimes fixes itself, but it keeps happening.

Using the built in keyboard on the laptop - not an external keyboard.

I get that sometimes scrolling the mouse too fast in Firefox in Windows on an Intel box, but it always recovered. I always just assumed it was the indication of an input buffer overflow or some kind of temporary I/O processing error... but maybe not.
