RC2 and Solaris 10 install

Guys I just finished installing the January 2006 release of Solaris 10.
I am attaching console screen shots with some errors.
Is this a problem?

Yep, looks familiar. It appears to have something to do with the fact that the MBP and therefore PD does't have a real serual port (which is typicaly what a UART chip is used for, that or a modem).
I had the exact same issue under beta 6, RC1 and stil with RC2. I've given up on Solaris.
Somewhere on the forum is a post with some suggestions on how to spoof PD to install. Search for Solaris and try them if yu want to keep going.

Ok thanx. I got to the end of installation just fine. After reboot I used Java Desktop. But I can't move my mouse. Also the desktop is biger than my screen size. I guess adjusting the config file will do it. But how do you open xterm to vi it? I could do ssh to it from mac but that is solaris VM ip address? Any ideas why the mouse is not working and how to find out the ip adress? netstat on mac?
 
You need to get the X11 configuration and pick PS/2 style mouse. You can navigate using the keyboard and then start a terminal window to do the reconfiguration.
 
I got it installed finally. But looks like the DHCP does now want to work in RC2. When I was connected using Airport and selected Default to let Parallels determine. I did not try seting it to Airport. But when I connected over the Cat-5 and selected the lan it started to work. Just so you know I did init 6 after the driver install from vmtools. Anyone have this problem when set to default and MBP is connected over Airport? Again this is in RC2.
