Re-allocating virtual drive space

I've searched this forum and other places and have not found an answer to what I'm asking, so I apologize if this has been asked before. I am wondering how I go about getting my virtual drive space back. I've decided that I'd rather use BootCamp to run Windows and would like the 32 GB I allocated for my virtual machine back. I attempted to uninstall Parallels but this did not give the space back. My first thought would be to delete the .pvm file, however, this is only 20.7GB in size and the virtual [C] drive says i'm using 9.5 out of the 32GB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please clarify:

you have separate from boot Camp virtual machine and you want to conpres it? Am i correct?

In thsi case please back up your virtual hard disk (copy .pvm file to the other location)

After that please start your Virtual Machine -> on the top of the screen -> Virtual Machine -> Run Parallels Compressor (please note that it will take several hours)

Please note that you may compress also expanded disks.
 
Sorry, I'll try and clarify...

I currently have Windows XP running on my MacBook via Parallels. What I want to do is remove Parallels from my computer and get the 32GB Parallels designated for the virtual machine freed up again. I don't have anything that needs to be backed up, so that doesn't need to be explained.

The 32 GB is the maimum size the virtual disk can take up, as it is expanding. You already freed up the space your virtual machine was using by deleting the .pvm file.
