Reclaim disk space corrupted disk drive

I tried reclaiming disk space, 46.3GB available, as I had not done it in about 2 months. It froze my Mac and then it subsequently crashed, and now the .pvm is corrupt. So far I have not found a way to get it going again. It seems this is not uncommon, I would heartily vote for higher integrity with the product instead of more features.

Hi, is it possible to generate the Problem report after the issue reoccurs?
 
I had this issue months ago and am still waiting for a fix. Parallels, this is a critical issue. How can it take so long?
