reinstall parallel tools again and again?

I have installed parallel tools during the upgrade to 4.0. Then I notice that there is an item 'Reinstall Parallel Tools' in one of the drop down menus from the horizontal menu bar at the top. So I click on that in case I have missed out. But when I next boot up parallel, I notice that the same item remains in the menu. How come and how to resolve this? Thanks.

The item should be in the menu whenever Parallels Tools is installed in the virtual machine, it is so by design. So, unless Parallels Tools is not working correctly, you should not be reinstalling it over and over.

If you have installed Parallels Tools, it runs on startup. "Parallels Tools are a suite of special utilities that help you use your virtual machines in the most comfortable and efficient way. With Parallels Tools, you can move the mouse seamlessly outside the guest OS window without pressing any key, change the virtual machine's screen resolution by simply resizing its window, and synchronize your virtual machine's time and date settings with the time settings of the host computer", as per the user guide. So is it possible to install a "custom video driver" to replace the "parallels video driver" under winxp?

No, this would most certainly mess up the virtual machine, because Parallels Desktop uses a virtual graphic card, and the drivers provided with Parallels Tools are tuned to work with it, while custom driver behaviour would be undpredictable.

Now I have to ask the Company of my CAD-prog that I use to give assistance to the Nvidia over the "parallels video driver". I'll keep my fingers crossed.
