    Hi

Several file types on my mac are associated with Windows applications under Parallels. How do I unassociate these file types? I am uninterested in using Windows applications to open files on my mac partition. I even uninstalled parallels, but the file associations persist. Are these stored in a library or preference file somewhere?

For example, the *.lic files are associated with a windows program called lmtools.exe, but I'd like to unassociate them. Now that parallels is uninstalled, upon double clicking them, I get the following error: "The lmtools.exe application cannot be started. This Windows application cannot be started because Parallels Desktop was not found on your Mac.

Thank you for any help you could provide.

Please check this KB article. Also, you can change associations in usual way -- Ctrl-click the file with needed extension, choose Open With -> Other, select the appropriate application and check 'Always open with'

It is very easy to clean the Mac from unwanted files. You can use CleanMyMac software which is mainly for Mac system.

For your convenience, I would like to tell you that it is necessary to keep the Mac clean because unwanted files can decrease the performance of the Mac system. These types of files affect the speed of the system.

If you use CleanMyMac software, it will remove all type of unwanted and malicious files from your system automatically once you install and launch the application.
