I got a nasty virus that in combination with all my efforts to remove totally screwed my WIn XP up. I'm not too sharp on my Mac yet so how do I remove WIndows & reinstall, do I have to remove Parallels too?

    Hello,

if you managed to get rid of the virus then you can just repair Windows installation.
But if you want to reinstall the OS, you can just delete existing VM with it, make a new one and install Windows there from the start. You don't have to remove Parallels Desktop.

    Best regards,
    Alicia.

If you aren't that 'sharp' with Windows, un-install the old machine by deleting the virtual .hdd file.

Just do a search for '.hdd' (without the quotes, of course) and delete the .hdd files. Then just go through the Parallels new machine set-up. You can always use Parallels Explorer to navigate through things if there are some files you need to recover prior to deleting the virtual machine.
