Rescuing .pvm files generated in Paralleles Desktop 14

Well . . . I have just realised that 14 reaches its end of life (whatever this means) in 10 days time.
I have a.prn file from Paralleles Desktop 14 that I need to access.
I can redownload the 15 installer but it tells my current Mac (running Big Sur) is missing something.
WOuld the trial install of Parallels 17 open this .prn file (even though it seems to automatically install Windows 10).
I really just need to transfer some data files from my Paralleles/Window XP world back to the mac.
