I have a strange network issue under Parallels 2.5: Running Retrospect 7.5 under Parallels and trying to communicate with a Retrospect Client running on the host Mac - simple network operation I would have thought. Retrospect sees the client, confirms my password, and then reports Error -513 - lost communication with client.
Checked all the obvious issues (firewall seetings etc.) no go.
So then I fired up VMWare RC1, installed Retrospect, and it has no problems - it is happily backing up by Mac as I type.
Are there known problems with Parallels network support to the host Mac?
If so, are the issues fixed in Parallels 3?
Anybody (including the Parallels people on the forum
) know?
TIA
P.S. Before somebody asks "Why? Isn't there a Mac Retrospect" Yes there is, but since Dantz got bought out by EMC it is lagging way behind the Windows version
, and it won't talk to my backup device.
