Revert back to 1970 from 3120

I need help. I upgraded to 3120 which is brilliant however I must be able to use hotsync to sync my Palm Treo 650 in Win XP. This doesn't work and having spent hours going through threads, there seems to be no answer.

Can anyone give me advice on how to revert back to 1970 without loosing all my win xp settings and files? Is there a better beta version which does allow hotsync to work which I should consider reverting back to? Or better still, is this going to be fixed in the very near future (days)?

Well, are you using a Bootcamp partition, or a standard VM? Either case, you should backup your working partition before doing anything else. If it's a standard VM, and you back it up through Finder and use it as your Guinea Pig, then you can always go back to your original VM if anything screwy happens.

If you need to backup your Bootcamp partition, it can easily be done if it is a FAT32. NTFS takes a little more details, as well as an external hard drive hooked up via USB.
 
And, when's the last time you've seen a SOLUTION posted on this forum??? When is the last time you've posted your solutions, constant my friend??? I am seeing a heck of a lot more solutions being posted after questions have been asked. If the creators of this forum really want to make a place for only solutions to be available for reading, they should make the place a sticky board, where only a designated person or group of people are authorized to update it, using the solutions offered to those who have asked questions.

Trying to preserve "this forum" as a place to only post the things people have done to fix their problems is about as effective as a one-legged man in a fancy dance. In my opinion, most users are long gone once they get their problems resolved. New users are constantly (no pun intended) coming here first because they see "How-to" and associate that to HELP NOW.

Give it a rest with the "can't you read" bologna. It's like pissing in the wind.

If you're going to comment about my posting history, then it would be a good idea if you actually check it first. The feature is available to do such a thing. Don't look now though, not unless you like proving yourself wrong that is.

If you don't check first, then you're just pissing into the breeze.

If new users are seeing "how to" as "help now", then this proves that not even as much as the second line is read.

A lot of mac users just seem to be very inconsiderate of others.

That's right. Most of us just scan for links to take us quickly to the place to go. I have read the second line plenty of times to know that it is insufficient to impress on anyone's mind that the How-to Forum is only for POSTING solutions. Most people see the line saying that it is a place for them to come and see solutions, yes, but nothing suggests it is because people are just going to post their answers without anybody asking them questions first.

Now, I've looked through your history as a poster, and I'm seeing what some others mean when they've use the word Troll in their replies. And, well, I guess, I should stop feeding one.

Some people who don't like what they read, automaticaly say troll. That doesn't mean it's true.

All forums are for help and comment. You would have seen where I have given plenty of help, and made plenty of comment. A very well rounded approach.

Guys, I just need a little help. What else should I do other than posting my problem on a forum? I upgraded and now can't sync with my palm which is crucial to my work life. I was only trying to solicit some help. Atomic_Fusion, thanks for your feedback but once backed up, is there a protocol to follow to revert? I'm using standard vm.

Locate where you have saved your (.pvs) VM and corresponding (.hdd) VM hard disk image files. Copy them both to a 2nd location. Then when you mess around with your originals, if something ever happens which you are not satisfied with, you can delete them and replace them with your backups. Your VM will consist of two file: the .pvs file and the .hdd file.

In Parallels before you load up your VM, select Open from the File menu, and determine where the files to your VM are located. Once located you can make the backup, and then you know where to restore them if there is a problem.
