Running a VM in the background while having a VM's application on the OS X Desktop

Hello all,

Most of us don't care to run Windows, but rather want to run a specific Windows program. Citrix allows you to place a shortcut on your host desktop that runs a specific application.

Could there be a way to 'hide' the windows VM, and just run the application window so it appears to be an OS X app?

This would allow the illusion that Outlook (as an example) is running on the Mac, as opposed to running inside a VM.

Great product guys. This changes everything!

This is exactly what I wanted to post right now.
Not having a OS inside a OS but having application windows of the
host and the guest OS simultaneously managed by the hosts window manager.
At least for some combinations of host and guest Operatig Systems.
(I would prefer all Windows variants as guest and MacOS and Windows as host)

This would be such a seamless integration and saves screan real estate. The
productivity boost will be great and so my will to pay for such a great feature.
 
Running a 'window less' application.

Since we are emulating a windows environment, we can leverage some behind the scenes trickery with DDE and RPC calls. You can define via scrip an application to appear as a shortut on your OSX desktop that calls via RPC an application within Windows.

This is actually done in a similar way with Nettunes (http://www.shirt-pocket.com). This allows you see and control Itunes that's running on computer A from computer B as a window, as if it were running on B.

This would change everything.:)
