Running bootable partition of Ubuntu as VM?

Would it be possible to set up Parallels to use an existing bootable partition of Ubuntu as a virtual machine (like setting up a Windows partition with boot camp)?

No it is not possible.
It is possible to create bootable disk image based on the partition.
Parallels transporter supports:
Ubuntu® Linux 7.10, 7.04, 6.10, 6.04, 5.04
