Running Crossloop and other VNC software in an XP VM on Parallels on OSX

Hi,

I'm thinking of switching from my Wintel PC to a Macbook Pro. I do quite a lot of remote assistance, however, using software like Crossloop, EchoVNC and straightforward VNC (Real, Ultra, Tight etc).

Does anyone have any experience of using any of these packages in an XP VM running on an OSX host? I'm particularly interested in knowing if an XP VM could be used to view other people's screens; I'm not too bother in having other people provide assistance to me.

It works, I use it daily to do some server monitoring.

However you also have VNC's available on the Mac OS X side.

Me I use vnc and RDP on the windows side, because my windows VM machine is connected thru VPN back to the office, while my MAC is connected on my internet connection giving me the best of both worlds.
 
Thanks fbronner. Could you specify exactly *which* VNC solution you've got running in a Win XP VM? I would assume that if one works they all work, but I'd like a definite answer if possible, especially as far as EchoVNC and Crossloop are concerned.

TightVNC :-)

Sorry, its not the other 2.
 
Tks for the reply - since Crossloop runs on TightVNC as well I'm guessing that it will work, but would still love to hear from anyone who has actually got it to work.

In fact, since Crossloop is free, would anyone running XP in Parallels on a Mac be happy to give up five minutes to start a crossloop session as the viewer, with my Win PC as the host?
