Running Win32 Maya 2010 in Parallels

Discussion in 'Windows Virtual Machine' started by Parallels User, Oct 6, 2010.

  1. Hi,

I've just tried running Maya 2010 on a 32-bit Windows 7 install. Everything seems to work ok apart from when rotating the camera around an object. The display stutters quite a lot as though there is some kind of frame buffer switching problem. Does anyone know a way to fix this? I'm not going to be dealing with huge 1 million triangle objects so using a non-optimal video driver would be an option. Is there a way of dropping the OpenGL version down to say 2.1? Are there any secret options in a config file somewhere I can tinker with?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

    thanks,
    Phil.

In the video settings, try turning off Vertical sync?

  3. Thanks, that works a treat. Don't know why I didn't try that in the first place. :)
