Saving desktop settings automatically (before Parallels update)

Everytime, after having updated parallels, all the icons I had on the desktop screen are re-grouped and not anymore in the way I had organised them.
Suggestion is that the icon setting can be saved and recalled after an update. Even better: create also the possibility to program the settings to do this saving, like e.g. the time sequence (every hour, day,...or immediately), the location where the file will be stored, etc...
