Screen REMAINS black after quitting Parallels Access on iPad AND on native machine

FRUSTRATED! Never mind the ports issue, but also Parallels Access blacks out the screen but won't "release" it to the system to allow any other VNC or remote software to see it. I used Pocket Cloud and since I have the ports issue (since Mavericks) I'm trying to go back to that. However, after launching, then disconnecting, and then force quitting even on the iPad the screen remains BLACK when I try pocket cloud AND Remote Desktop, the Apple app, from my DESKTOP machine as well - so not just the iPad, but also the desktop. LogMeIn will let me see the machine so there is some kind of local block still happening. I've gone so far as to quit the Access host on the native machine and still nothing. Horrible software and NOT READY for prime time AT ALL.
