Security update for Windows XP SP3

Following last week's Ransomware incident, I downloaded Microsoft's patch, but find I can't install it on my Mac's Parallels VM. I'm told that the version of Windows I'm running doesn't match.

I've checked that the version I've downloaded is for Windows XP SP3.

Anyone else similarly affected?

Hi @Michael, please let us know the version of Parallels Desktop you are using right now and help us with the screenshots if you get any error message, we will check and help you out.

It looks like a known issue with Microsoft update. Please check this blog and scroll to the bottom to further resources, download English language security update for Windows XP SP3. For more information, please check this Microsoft webpage

Thanks, I followed your instructions, and downloaded the one that worked:
windowsxp-kb4012598-x86-custom-enu_eceb7d5023bbb23c0dc633e46b9c2f14fa6ee9dd.exe

The version I had trouble with was:
WindowsXP-KB4012598-x86-Embedded-Custom-ENU.exe
