Service pack 2 for xp

I am updating my recently installed windows xp, but after i have successfully downloaded the windows xp service pack 2 and attempted to install the software i receive error messages saying the "data is invalid."

What is happening here?
Has anyone else install SP2
 
Direct download still fails

I tried downloading the sp 2 update executable directly, it still fails with "the data is invalid."
