Hi all, Just a quick question. I have seen a few articles on how to set a static IP for Windows but none seem to work for me on my local network. To give a bit of background. I have several machines and I need to use the Win11 Parallels VM as a proxy for things like Wire Shark and other network traces. The problem is that if I try and set the IP Address to a local IP (e.g. 192.168....) I get a conflict in Parallels. If I leave it "as is" and set it to a 10. IP Address, nothing on my local LAN can see it. I think I am missing something simple. Can someone provide some guidance as to how I can set a static IP using my local LAN IP addresses (192.168...)? Thanks.
Answering my own question here for other folks. This actually was a pretty simple fix. I was running in Networking Shared mode (and tried Host mode as well). The solution was to use Bridged Mode and, for me, to select my USB ethernet adapter. Once i did that, I was able to reboot the VM and the lDHCP service assigned a local LAN IP Address. That's it.
