Severe freeze on exit with build 3120

I just upgraded to build 3120 on my Mac Pro. It works great while it's running, but when I shut down Windows (XP), Parallels freezes and eventually sucks up all of the available memory on the computer. If I don't catch it in time and do a "Force Quit", the computer eventually locks up and has to be rebooted with the power button.

I downgraded to 3036, and everything is fine.

I'll anxiously await the next beta!

or at least what were you doing?

what software and which windows?

because I uninstalled Parallels tools before upgrading
and either manually close windows or suspend parallels before any shut down

everything is perfect with the new beta

it still writes garbage into the front window now and then but this is cosmetic
I better take a screen shot for the uber geek if I can remeber how to:-)

This happened every time I shut down Windows XP. Windows would almost finish its shutdown process and then appear to hang. If I didn't force quit Parallels in a timely manner, eventually the whole Mac would lock up.

The machine is a 2.66 GHz Mac Pro. There were no USB devices attached to Parallels when I exited (although one of the times I may have connected a digital camera).

Same error for me.

I got the Mac Pro 2GHz standard edition (1gb ram, 7300gt). Have Parallels 3120 RC, installed XP SP2.

When I start Parallels everything goes perfect. But on shutdown (of the VMs) my mac almost stops. It could take as long as a couple of minutes before it "wake up" again.

After Parallels finally quits, OSX have some errors:

This doesn't happened every time, but when it does, I have to restart the mac to get it back to normal.

I haven't tried to downgrade yet, but I will try that to see if that helps.

edit:
If I suspend the VM, everything is OK. So it only happens when I shutdown from inside XP.

Even worse for me

I have an even more severe problem on my Macbook.

Parallels will launch, and I can select my Windows XP SP2 installation. However, XP freezes just after log in; I think it is when the Parallels Tools installer loads. Parallels locks completely, and when I Force Quit it, I get a kernel panic.

This has happened twice; the second time took a lot of my application preferences with it, so I'm reluctant to try again unless someone can offer a potential solution.

Specs:

Macbook 1.83GHz Rev 1, 2Gb RAM, 120Gb HD, OS X 10.4.8 (up to date, all Apple updaters installed).
 
Now it seams like the problem i gone.

I uninstalled Parallels, and installed 3036 => OK. Then I tried 3094 => OK. And finally I tried 3120 RC and it worked.

Dont know what the problem was, but as long as it works I'm happy :)
 
I get the same problem!

I get the same shutdown problem...don't know what's wrong...

I just had a similar error. I tried to shutdown XP Pro SP2 and it sat there forever with the message, 'Windows is shutting down...'. This is after I had put my MPB 2.33 C2D to sleep and then woke it up with Parallels running. I usually quit Parallels before putting my MacBook Pro to sleep, but not this time. I had to force quit Parallels.

Build 3120.
