I am 'test driving' a new MacBook with Parallels in our office environment, which has Win XP LAN.
The problem is that when I launch Win XP Pro on Parallels, Mac OSX drops its connection to the network drives. It does this periodically after launch, which causes major problems if I am working on a Word document on Mac OSX and some other application in Win XP Pro.
I suspect it has something to do with Mac OSX and Win XP Pro sharing the ethernet connection to the office server.
Network setup is as follows;
Mac OSX 10.4.9 -
Built-in Ethernet - IPv4 DHCP configure automatically
Parallels Guest-host - ditto
Parallels NAT - ditto
No proxies
Log onto nework using command-k and smb://Kaos/Storm
Win XP Pro
DHCP
Log onto network using //Kaos/Storm (maps drive automatically)
Parallels
Shared networking is on
Thanks in advance
