Share experience running Windows (7) as a VM in OSX vs. from Bootcamp

Looking for the experienced users here to post their opinions and experiences on running Windows (in my case WIN7) as VM from Bootcamp verus creating a VM within OSX?

I have read the differences in Parallels instructions on how to set up up but I am hoping that running it from a boot camp partition would be a lot faster then a OSX VM.

I would be interested in your opinions/experience and if you feel one or the other is or isn't worth doing and why?
